ISO 21502: 2020 Guidance on Project Management

Overview

​

ISO 21502 provides high-level description of concepts and processes that are considered to form good practice in project management.

 

Projects are placed in the context of programmes and project portfolios; however, ISO 21502 does not provide detailed guidance on the management of programmes and project portfolios.

​

Topics pertaining to general management are addressed only within the context of project management.

​

​​The 5-day ISO 21502 Lead Project Manager training course enables you to develop the necessary competencies to lead an organization and its team to implement, manage and maintain projects effectively based on the guidelines of ISO 21502.

Day 3: Implementing the processes as specified in ISO 21502

Prerequisites

​

Proficiency in the English language, willingness to learn, and open mind to new ways of working.

​

Training Approach

​

The course covers both theory and practice:

  • Slide-based training sessions, supported by examples

  • Preparation for the exam

  • Practice test (mock exam) simulating the certification exam.

​

Examination

​

Upon completion of the training course, you can sit for the exam and become Certified Lead Project Manager.

​

Following are the exam details:

  • Duration             2 hours

  • Format               Open book

  • Nr of questions  60, multiple choice

  • Pass mark          70% (42 correct answers).

​

  • Fundamental principles and concepts of Project Management

  • Initiating the processes of Project Management

  • Planning the processes of Project Management

  • Implementing the processes to perform the Project Management activities

  • Controlling the processes of Project Management to monitor and measure their performance against project objectives

  • Closing Project Management Processes

  • Evaluating the competencies of Lead Project Managers.

 

Certification

The ISO 21502 Lead Project Manager certificate will be issued to delegates passing the exam.
