Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) & Equipment Reliability
Overview
This 1-day training course provides a comprehensive overview of the TPM process and system, the innovative maintenance approach optimising overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). TPM originated as a primary tool of the Toyota production system (TPS). It is not a specific maintenance approach but rather a culture, philosophy and attitude towards overall maintenance and reliability.
The primary features of TPM are the involvement of operators carrying out autonomous maintenance by participating in cleaning, lubrication, housekeeping, minor-repairs, adjustments, etc.
TPM is a team and shop floor-based initiative, focused on optimszing the effectiveness of manufacturing equipment. It helps workers efficiently care for the equipment and machines they work with, resulting in reduced costs, including money and space tied up with spare parts inventory.
TPM addresses the manufacturing equipment losses of breakdowns, set-ups, adjustments, reduced speed, scrap and rework. TPM implementation leads to significant manufacturing cost reductions. Manufacturing organisations implementing TPM are better placed to survive in increasingly competitive global markets.
Who Should Attend
Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) training has proven to help workers (from plant-floor employees to senior executives) incorporate maintenance into the everyday performance of the facility, detect developing problems earlier, "mistake-proofing" equipment and reducing breakdowns.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this course, you will be able to:

Explain the benefits of implementing TPM in a facility
