  • The importance of the 5W and H technique of confidently asking Who, Why, What, Where, When and How, to ensure audit meets its objectives.

  • Learn to vary your approach to get the most out of the audit, by learning about the Plan, Do, Check, Act (PDCA) Cycle – the four step process that will give you essential focus.

  • Establish criteria around the results you want to achieve, make these happen and monitor the results, to ensure you’re meeting your targets. Use this information to identify opportunities for the organisation's management system improvement, playing your part in business success.

  • Make the audit report count with confidence as champion of the audit programme, by ensuring that your findings will deliver real business results.

  • Manage risks when planning an audit and make a difference to your business. Stay focussed with risk-based planning. Identify and prioritise core processes and related risks to create an audit schedule aligned with business objectives.

  • Contribute in the creation of robust business management system processes, that lead to readiness for certification and increase the confidence of clients and other interesting parties.

  • Familiarise yourself with the role and responsibilities of the business management system auditor, in line with the ISO 19011:2002 standard.

Course Agenda and Content

​

The course consists of two parts:

​

Part 1:

  • Covers the theory related to auditing, based on the content and guidelines of the ISO 19011 standard.

  • Includes pre-course reading, and counts as 1 day of learning on the topic of MS auditing.

 

Part 2:

  • Consists of 2 days of interactive classroom training and learning.

  • Focuses on the skills an auditor needs during the course of an audit.

​

This course is typically combined with the 3-day Internal Auditor course, to complete a more holistic syllabus complementing the Internal Auditor training. The above two courses form a 5-day course.

Prerequisites

You must have completed the 2-day Internal Auditor course before attending the "ISO 19011:2018-based Management System Auditing Skills" course.

​

Training Approach

 

The course covers both theory and practice:

  • Slide-based training sessions, illustrated with examples

  • Business cases

  • Preparation for the exam

  • Practice test (mock exam) similar to the certification exam.

 

Examination

 

  • Duration:     90 min.

  • Format:       Closed book

  • Questions   60 multiple-choice questions

  • Pass mark: 70% (42 correct answers)

 

Competence domains

  • Fundamental principles and concepts of business management system auditing

  • ISO 19011 guidance management systems (MS) auditing.

 

Certification

 

The certificate will be issued to delegates passing the exam.
