ISO 22301 Security & Resilience - Business Continuity Management Systems - Requirements

Overview

 

This 1-day training enables delegates to become familiar with basic concepts of implementing and managing a Business Continuity Management System (BCMS) as specified in ISO 22301:2019

Delegates will learn the different components of a BCMS, including the policy, risk management, measuring performance, management commitment, internal auditing, management review and continual improvement.

 

This training is fully compatible with ISO 22300, Security and resilience - Vocabulary

On course completion delegates will understand, and will be able to articulate the following:

  • The basics of business continuity management

  • The concepts, approaches, standards, methods and techniques required for effective management of an organisation’s BCMS

  • The interrelationship between ISO 22301, and ISO 27031

  • The main components of a BCMS according to ISO 22301, and ISO 27031

  • The interrelationship between a BCMS, including risk management, controls, and compliance, with the requirements of different interested parties of the organization

  • The stages of the ISO 22301 certification process.

 

Course Agenda and Content

 

  • Overview of the standards ISO 22301, ISO 27031, ISO/PAS 22399, and the regulatory framework

  • Introduction to management systems and the process approach

  • General requirements: presentation of clauses 4 to 10 of ISO 22301

  • Implementation phases of an ISO 22301-compliant BCMS

  • Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and risk management

  • Continual improvement of a BCMS

  • The certification audit of an ISO 22301-compliant BCMS

 

Prerequisites

 

Proficiency in the English language, willingness to learn, and open mind to new ways of working.

 

Training Approach

 

The course covers both theory and practice:

  • Slide-based training sessions, illustrated with examples

  • Business cases
