Business Training and Consulting Services offers training in Integrated Management Systems at two levels:

Integrated Management Systems (IMS)

The number of management systems has risen dramatically in recent years, reflecting the needs and

demands of more and more organizations looking to improve their performance across a wide range of

areas and sectors.

Most companies have more than one, and this reflects increasingly complex operating environments and

organisational contexts.

The ISO organisation has published more than 60 management system standards (MSS), that:

  • Make up the ISO portfolio

  • Cover areas such as organizational health and safety (ISO 45001), food safety (ISO 22000), education

(ISO 21001) and information technology (ISO 27001).

Unlike other types of standards, MSS have an impact on many different aspects and functions of an

organization and, increasingly, companies have more than one.

An Integrated Management System (IMS) combines aspects of an organisation's systems, processes, and standards into one "smart" business management system (MS).

  • This merger allows a business to streamline its, otherwise independent from each other, management systems (MSs)

  • Example: MS for Quality, Environmental Protection, Health & Safety, Information Security, Business Continuity, and Risk Management.

In the above example each MS corresponds to an ISO Management System Standard (MSS), i.e. ISO 9001, 14001, 45001, 27001, 22301, and 31000.

Integrated Management Systems allow your organization to:

  • Conduct integrated audits and assessments

  • Optimize the utilisation of processes, time, and resources.

When you integrate these systems, it can help reduce the time it takes to perform certain tasks/ activities,

minimise the risk of duplication of effort, minimise interrupted operational activities, etc.

  • This can save time and resources and increase efficiency, by addressing the elements of the combined

      management systems as a whole.

A integrated management system can bring many benefits to your organization, such as:

  • Lower certification costs

  • Fewer interruptions to the organization

  • Reduced management systems' documentation

  • Streamlined processes

  • Consistent objectives across multiple systems.

The ISO organisation has published a handbook titled "The Integrated Use of Management System Standards (IUMSS)".
